Picasso’s Femme Assise Pres d'une Fenetre went under the hammer for a staggering £28.6 million at Sotheby’s London yesterday. Painted in 1932, the portrait depicts the artist’s mistress Marie-Therese Walter sitting pensively by the window.
This Collector's Edition is limited to 845 copies, each numbered and signed by Nobuyoshi Araki. It consists of three volumes, enticingly hand-bound in the Japanese tradition and packaged in a wooden box, featuring Araki’s selection of his favorite bondage photos from over his entire career.
The Andy Warhol Foundation is selling it's entire collection of the late artist’s work through Christie’s.
Christie’s will begin the series of Warhol sales on November 12 with paintings, drawings, photographs, and prints from throughout the artist’s career, with individual lots estimated from roughly $4,000 to more than $1 million.
